General Summary
Noxday, 11th Zenith 211 EoL
After resting up from their trek through the jungle, the party set out into the town of Adanum to run some errands.
The first order of business was for De Mini, Hotshot, and Doc to organize a ship transport to get them to Diernum, the current seat of the Numian military force. Due to the barrier and the announced festivities, however, it was difficult to find a captain willing to leave. Birdy sent them to Captain Firebeard, an acquaintance who might be willing to take them on despite the upcoming festivities. The talk with Captain Firebeard was intense, but as usual De Mini managed to get a good deal, considering the circumstances.
Meanwhile, Cap, Lucky and Tiny went to the Ferrium Mining Company to inform them of what they found beneath the "haunted house and talk to them about the job from the town noticeboard. The local administrator was a particulate fellow but was quite open in dealing with them even though Cap was not entirely convinced and was suspicious the administrator might have something to do with the smuggler's operation. Unfortunately, the Mining Company could not provide them with a substantial reward until they were able to confirm their claims. Additionally, to a monetary reward, they managed to arrange for free transport along the mining company's river routes in case the group's information turns out to be true.
Concerning the job from the notice board, the mining company came upon some old ruins within one of their gold mines. A first expeditionary force did not return. The company closed the tunnel, and now wants the group to investigate and if possible retrieve their lost colleagues. The administrator, however, was not very forthcoming with additional details. Nonetheless, the group accepted the job.
At lunch, the group discussed their options. Having two possible avenues to explore, the group decided to first visit Diernum, and from there move through the jungle to the mines, and then along the river back home to Adanum. It was then, that a portal opened outside of the Wolfden, and Doc had to leave due to a family emergency, or so she claimed. It took only a moment and she was gone. The barrier was clearly affected by this planar portal, but after the portal disappeared again the barrier seemed to revert to its unchanging way.
Cenday, 12th Zenith 211 EoL
In the early morning, the group gathered at the docks to set out on the Firewhale, Captain Firebeard's ship. A 10-hour journey was ahead of them, and the journey did not remain uninterrupted. Travelling along the island's coast the ship was set upon, by a group of Lizardfolk. They climbed the side of the ship and started attacking immediately. While De Mini got dragged off the boat, she did not fall into the water due to the use of a little magic. Therefore, she remained out of reach of the giant crocodiles lurking in the waters. The remainder of the voyage, however, was uneventful.
