BB's Diary #33

Noxday, 5th of Dusk 212 EoL (part two)

Dear Diary,

While I was sleeping and later waiting for the others in the dining room, Trip had made a clone of himself. Just when you think things couldn't get any worse... Once everybody was back, and the usual arguing was done, we went outside of town to sleep another night in our tents (or under Trip's dome) before heading to meet the lich, since I was still very tired and also because of the time difference.   That night everyone of us had nightmares that Czyrkal put in our heads and that prevented some of us from getting our good night's sleep.
  • Drake saw his mother die, killed by Czyrkal.
  • Shirel saw his child and it's mother getting killed by Czyrkal, who then told him that he knew where they are.
  • Trip dreamed of an alternative reality, where he had managed to take over the Gatekeepers and kill the Lady of Pain only to be killed by our father.
  • Yelena saw herself being reunited with her father who then killed her. Then Czyrkal told her that nobody loves her.
  • I lived a happy live with Drake and Trip. I saw them age and die. They were replaced by other people, who aged, died and were replaced and so on.
After those dreams the mood did not lighten. Yelena and I were exhausted and Shirel really wanted to meet Czyrkal to ask him about his former girlfriend and their child. We then teleported to Dalelry, where it was still the middle of the night. A very young and sweet female member of the Greycloakes welcomed us. Her name is Emilia and she was happy to answer some questions and give us instructions on the town. Dalelry is a pilgrim city, where people come to join caravans that travel to Akruzeth (Czyrkal's flying island). The next caravan would leave in a few days and takes two weeks to get to the island. We decided to not join such a caravan, since it would slow us down, but wanted to spend the rest of the day and one night here to maybe get some sleep. We went to the tavern Emilia had guided us to. We took four rooms and waited for breakfast to be served. Yelena went to bed immediately and so she missed Czyrkal's visit. He asked to get his phylactery back within a day. We knew that was impossible. Shirel followed him to find out that he had a mansion like Tip's right outside of town. So the guys decided to attack him there. They wanted to lift the mansion with some kind of non-magical field and then tie him up. We had to order a bunch of stuff from Blackstaff to make that plan work, so we waited an hour for the delivery. We had to buy normal arrows for me. I didn't even know if I was able to shoot straight, since I was so exhausted I had to ride on Lucian to even get there.   The plan, of course, didn't work. The weird dude talking to us wasn't Czyrkal himself, but a clone of him, that disappeared once it entered the non-magic zone. So we had to lift the zone. Then Trip did some magic and the clone was easy pickings. The others then decided to leave for Akruzeth right then. They told me to sleep on our flying carpet, which is where I am writing right now, before I'll try to rest a bit. Yelena was the lucky one to get the potion that makes that one is not exhausted anymore.   I really don't want to be here. I really don't want to do all we have on our agenda. I guess none of us does. Life sucks! Well there's one silver lining: Shirel and I made a deal that if we both survive our missions, we'll start a wandering theater. We'll wander from town to town, telling the story of the dragon slayers and other fantastic stories, while I can sell clothes and fulfill the Raven Queen's missions and he can search for his child. This may be what I'll be doing for an eternity now, so there'll better be some more good stories I'll get out of our current missions.

Love, BB <3
