today, we arrived in Thelzroa. We were excited to see some real pirates and arriving at the harbor, we were not disappointed. A real pirate greeted us in the name of the pirate king Roshan. He explained the city rules to us. We're not allowed to steal (a pretty bizarre rule for a pirate city) or to kill somebody within the city borders. If we escort that person outside of the city before the fight is about to start then it seems to be ok. Also, if we don't have a captain, the king will be our captain. Last but not least, every first arrival gets to meet the pirate king. Of course, we were all eager to meet him, not every day you get to meet a real pirate, or a real king, or a real pirate king! Our imaginations went wild.
Arriving at his place, I was kind of disappointed. It was not a palace, as I had imagined nor was it a huge pirate ship... It was a tavern. Ordinary people were there, drinking and playing cards. It fitted well in with the rest of this muddy and stinky peninsula. Then came a big lizardfolk, who didn't look like a pirate and even less like a king. He started talking to us and naturally Drake and Shirel took over the leading roles in this conversation, while Yelena, Trip, and I left wondering who this could be. To our surprise, it was indeed the pirate king. We decided to tell him, that if he wanted to be taken seriously as a pirate king he really needed to change his appearance.
All of a sudden, he attacked us. We were fighting with an audience this time since most of the people from the tavern had gathered around the patio where the fight took place. He was good. I mean, we would have won, of course, but he nearly managed to kill Yelena (as did a lot of people already) whom we had to save (yet again). She really knows how to get herself in trouble.
Roshan ended the fight after a few rounds and escorted us into his private part of the tavern. He served us his best rum and got to talking with us. Asking us about our business here in Thelzroa. He was telling us where we could sleep. We had already past that place while walking up to his tavern and it seemed like a place where I did not want to sleep. This is why I asked him if he would have room for us, since the room we were talking in looked quite nice. He told us, that there were no beds available. And then I asked him if he would have room for me in his bed. As I said it I was shocked myself. I don't know why I did that. Maybe to provoke Drake? Maybe it was an old habit I fell into out of self-protection from this whole break thing, that I can't deal with? The moment I said it I regretted it and tried to wind myself out of it without being too rude. After all, he is the king. Luckily, Trip was there to save me, again, reminding me of his mansion we could sleep in.
We then left for the harbor to find a female captain named Fae, who would have crucial information that could help us fulfill our mission. She told us that people, who went into a tower called "The eye of the sea" went missing since Cpt. Redmane and his girlfriend, a dark elf named Eldira had been in there. I get the feeling that Gwenelle knows this woman, but I'm not sure. She's a mystery to me and will probably remain one forever.
We then went our separate ways to run some errands. I went with my brother to buy some pirate clothes. He always wanted to be a pirate and to wear a pirate hat. Finally, he found the perfect place to do so. I knew I had to go with him for fashion advice and to watch out that he doesn't spend an unnecessary amount of money on unnecessary things, which he did either way. I flirted hard to get us a good price, but he was glad to be cheated on by a real pirate.
We then got into talking. I promised him that I would never have stayed over at the king's since I love Drake far too much to risk anything. If it wasn't for Drake I would not have hesitated one second, I never slept with a real pirate or a king before, so I could have crossed both off my list. That reminds me: I don't have my list anymore, it went up in flames in Sigil, with all of my other stuff. I'll probably never need that list again if I can be with Drake. He was surprised that I bought a pirate dress, which I want to try to reproduce at home. He didn't think I was able to do that by myself, since it is something he doesn't know how to do. He has inherited some trades from our father, who also kept underestimating me. And there he is again, father, I really try hard to leave my past behind me. To forget about my life in Sigil, about my parents and the Gatekeepers, but Trip shows interest in our father again. I knew this would happen. They are alike after all.
When we arrived at the Treasure Inn, where Yelena and Gwenelle were supposed to get us a couple of rooms and wait for us, we were surprised to not find them. We then tried to get rooms, but even with the best flirting I could do, they still were very expensive. We waited for the others, contacted Yelena and Gwenelle, and then Trip showed us all into his mansion. We ate and drank. I went into my room to dye the blouse I bought for Fae when Shirel came over to talk to me.
