BB's Diary #20

Dear Diary,

where should I start... this has been such a crazy ride with next to no sleep...
We left after the weird reunion I had with my brother . So the next morning I told Drake about our fight. He was siding with... well with Trip, strangely enough. Not entirely, he was on my side about us not ignoring certain dangers, we don't even know of, but I just felt that it is important to him, that we get along and that we get to know the new uses better. Most importantly we decided, that if we would both survive this adventure, then we would not go on another adventure, except the one of creating a family.
Anyway... we then left with our guide to getting rid of some witch the town had made a deal with, but seemingly that deal was broken by the witch... I really don't know why we're doing this, this is so not our problem and way beyond our capabilities... but as usual, they all want to help the damsels in distress, I guess. I mean I get that we need a guide to find the tower that Drake and Gwenelle are supposed to find, but still not my problem.
So we went off to fight a fight that wasn't ours. Shirel and I may have taken a wrong turn while getting closer to the witch, which may have caused us to get trapped on a narrow footbridge and it also may have been the reason that Yelena was drowned by a giant crocodile that bit of her leg, but there is no hard evidence for all of that. I got Yelena out of the water and thanks to the Ravenqueen I was able to stop her decay until Shirel could revivify her. We all fought bravely against everything the witch threw at us. Most of all our dear guide, who got trapped in a huge bubble with a T-Rex and some other creature and later got shot away in that same bubble to never be seen again. Oh well... there went our chance of finding that stupid tower, the only reason we ever got into this fight. I really hate this adventure!
We then moved on to find an Illithid, some kind of magician who wanted to "borrow" Trip's spellbook. Unsurprisingly Trip was thinking about giving it to him, hoping to acquire some new knowledge of that guy. Shirel helped me to convince him otherwise, but I have the feeling, that my brother is still not over this and would give that creature his book if he had another shot at it. At the same time, we found Saldri lying in that guy's hut. She was unconscious and had no clue how she got there. Now we are finally all reunited and can start a new awesome journey.
Except that, since our guide died, we had no idea where to go. The people in town were not so happy to find out that their friend had died bravely (we could not tell them the real deal, I mean, you know... ). Luckily the Wolves contacted Drake and gave us a new, eminent mission: we had to get back to Zathess because Gullitiklan was taking over the city with his cult. We only had a few hours before the arrival of Firebeard to pick us up.
I got into talking with Yelena. I told her about the fight and how she had died. I talked to her about the new plans that Drake and I have. She doesn't believe that we could become settled and have children, she said: "Once an adventurer, always an adventurer!" Do you think she could be right? I mean, I really wanted to come here, but now I hate every minute of this. I miss simply being with Drake, I even miss his mother. Oh my Ravenqueen, this is really weird, I guess I need to get some rest.
Once we arrived on the ship, we were told that the city is on fire, that the cult was taking over Zathess and maybe other cities and that we need to get there because we know Gullitiklan. What have I done? This was certainly not my intention when I let him out. If something happens to any of us, or Shirel's or Drake's mother, I could never forgive myself or live with myself or look myself in the mirror... ok maybe not the latest, because let's face it, I'm gorgeous and everybody, no matter what they did, should be allowed to look at me. So on the ship more crazy stuff happened: first of all, Saldri had teased us with a surprise, and she delivered big times! She has now a rivven to heal. I still don't understand anything about all that magic stuff, but it was so cool! Later we had a real feast, it tasted so good, it felt like home, I mean ex-home, because home is now Sedem Lux and this tasted like childhood memories of your favorite food.
After next to no rest, we got attacked by a Kraken, again. We knew that it was Gulli messing with us, again. But this time the fight came to a very quick end when Trip just transformed the Kraken into a goldfish. It was amazing! Soon afterward we arrived at the harbor of Zathess, where people were talking really fast and loud and about what needed to be done and by whom and they forbade Shirel to use magic and... actually, I don't know what happened there. I saw fire, the city was burning. I was so afraid. I knew it was all my fault. I hate myself right now. What have I done?
Then someone screamed at me to get a hold of another wolf and before I knew it we were teleported to the Wolvesden. Saldri apparently did not hear that she needed to touch one of us, because she was nowhere to be found in the Den. Drake made me realize, that the gatekeepers should have seen this and could be here any minute, but the teleporting magician guy told us, that they won't come and that we have other problems. After Trip had done some of his magic to see where Gulli was, we flew over there to fight him.
There were so many cultists and traps. The teleporting magician remained outside to fight some of them, while we went inside with Lykos (Drake's boss). The path down to the vault was no match for us, but of course, Gulli had to talk to us. I engaged, I told him that this was not what I intended and that it was not part of our deal. I knew he would win that argument, and he did. Once we arrived at the vault we were facing four Mindflayers and our dear friend Gullitiklan. Some of us were just stunned by what was awaiting us down there, but we finally managed to kill all the Mindflayers and Gullitiklan. Trip icing the bloody water he was at helped a lot, Drake turning on us mid-fight not so much. Finally, Yelena managed to kill him and then decides to hack him. Or what was an illusion of him? you just never know with that guy...
Before we arrived, Trip had seen that Gulli was cutting out the brains of his followers and putting them on a huge pile (this is where all the blood came from). During the fight, those brains were merging into one giant superbrain, that now began to move upwards. And underneath it, out of what seemed to be nowhere, came a creature that was a part brain. We had to have another fight, or so it seemed... because then all of a sudden, there was this huge explosion next to the creature and that light, that was as bright as possible. Then, a few seconds later, there was a second explosion and a second light even louder and brighter than the first one. We were blind and deaf. And then all of a sudden we were pulled toward where the explosion came from. We desperately tried to not get sucked in. I build a wall out of stone, I guess Trip must have had the same idea because I hit a wall out of ice. The impact was really hard. I had no idea if anyone else was with me since I couldn't hear nor see anything. I felt the wall crackling under me. I then drank a potion of climbing and tried to "climb" the floor, evading that pulling sensation, but I just couldn't. I did not know what had caused the explosions, I did not know what was happening, I did not know if the others were still there or already sucked in. Where was Drake? Where was Trip? Would I survive this? I felt so alone, afraid, and helpless. Desperately I built another tiny wall behind me, to give me a few more seconds, and then, suddenly, it just stopped! Just like that!
Slowly our vision and hearing came back. I found Trip in the water and helped him out of it. Drake was there. I saw Yelena an----______
