Lumsday, 8th Dusk 211 EoL
Dear Diary,
It's been more than a week since I last wrote. I'm sorry, but it was a really busy week since our arrival.
We,
Drake and I, made it safely to
Sedem Lux. As planned, we first crashed in the Wolfsden for a few days to get things settled. And boy, the things one can achieve in a week!
First things first: I needed a new identity to better hide from the
Gatekeepers.
Trip and I decided to get a new last name. Drake knows a person in the Guild who could get me new identity papers. To get them asap, Drake had to do a job for them. At first, I was not happy about it, but since he did it for me I even agreed to help him. We had to break into a mausoleum to rob the grave of some rich guy who had passed away a few days ago. It went smoothly, well... if one does not consider the wall and gate we had to climb and the steak Drake and his new "friend" Andy the Dagger left inside the coffin. Job's done, papers are in. Say hello to Belle-Breeze Tempest.
Drake got really excited about that job, so he decided to spend of his evenings in shady places where he meets up with his guild contacts to do more jobs for them. I don't like the fact he could get in trouble, but he really likes being back with them. And who am I to judge, being the Raven Princess? So I decided to not ask too many questions (except for where he's going) to not get involved too much.
He also keeps working for the Wolves, so he's quite busy.
After the paperwork was done I went searching for a job in an upper town boutique. Jobhunting did not quite work as I had hoped... but I ended up with a job in a brand new boutique in the middle-class part of town. It is called "Silken Dreams" and owned by Cassia Aluredes, who seems very nice. She hired me because she thinks that a Genasi will make people curious and bring them into the boutique. I hope her plan will work out. For the moment I'm paid 1gp/day. It ain't much, but at least I make my own money and am not totally depending on Drake. Oh btw, people here wear very different clothes from what I know. They're not really stylish, but since I want to fit in I got myself some new robes and tunics.
Oh and Drake, who is richer than I thought, bought us a house. In the middle-class part of town. Two bedrooms and even a little yard. I agreed on the two bedrooms since Drake plans to take his mother out of the slums to live with us. I haven't met her yet. Drake has only been over once or twice since we arrived. He tells me that she is happy for Drake to have found a nice girlfriend. He has not told her yet that I am a Genasi.
Our new life is so exciting! I can't wait to visit some of the vineyards around here and to get my job really started. Let's see what next week will bring!
