The Necromonicon

The Necromonicon is the book of the Dead.

A collection of forbidden stories, arcane lore, and necromantic spells written by a variety of authors ranging from minor cultists to notorious liches to alien aberrations. A rather insane chapter refers to a being known as Grokena, (Goddess Of The Insane) but the rest is unintelligible. The book is often confused for the Book of Un-Tethered Darkness by those with passing knowledge, but its subject matter is that of death rather than evil. The Necronomicon is prized equally by any who would seek the harness the powers or battle the foul entities the immense volume seeks to detail. Occasionally, a translated manuscript is made, though these never contain the full bulk of information in the original and are usually destroyed as soon as they come to light.
