Hypernova Havoc
There's an exquisite beauty in the dance of death.Hypernova Havoc is an infamous deathmatch run by the Azure Spectator. It branches three solar systems out on the fringe of the galaxy.
Locations
The Hub
The Hub is a planet-sized space station, used as the base of operations of Hypernova Havoc. A large chunk of the Hub is used for more background operations to keep the deathmatches running smoothly. There are also areas open to the public, for audiences who want to witness the carnage in person. There are hotels, restaurants and other amenities for visitors to have a pleasant time. There are shops that also sell various merchandise, usually of contestants that are fighting at the time.
Planets
There are multiple planets that Hypernova Havoc uses for gauntlets and battle royales. These planets have been terraformed multiple times over the decades to fit the Spectator's liking, to add some variation to the arenas.Deathmatches
Categories
There are different types of matches, either pitching contestants against each other, and also hazardous environments.- Classic - Two contestants are pitted against each other in a deathmatch arena, usually to fight to the death, sometimes not.
- Rush - A particularly formidable contestant is pitted against multiple opponents one after the other.
- Battle Royale - A large group of contestants are dumped on a planet with one person (or team) being the winner.
- Gauntlets - Contestants are placed into hazardous courses when they have to try and reach the end. There can be multiple winners, but the Spectator has made it clear that the prize winnings are split between the victors.
Care Packages
The audience can spend money to drop care packages to specific contestants in the gauntlets and large-scale fights, usually containing equipment, food, and other supplies. They can also send down joke packages of useless items. During deathmatches, they can also spend money to throw weapons into the arena during deathmatches sometimes (depending on the Spectator’s mood).
Contestants
There are usually two kinds of contestants that end up in Hypernova Havoc: those who chose to be there and those who didn't. The Spectator prefers contestants who aren't volunteers as she feels their fight for survival is more authentic. However, there are some contestants that do willingly participate in the deathmatches, either due to the prizes or the glory. They are given different colour coded uniforms to those who aren't, and usually last longer due to being more prepared and having the right mindset. There is a leaderboard to show who has the most points and how long they've been there.
Employees
Ashuri
All the employees of Hypernova Havoc are Ashuri, since the Spectator isn't interested in employing non-Ashuri.These Ashuri are formed from a splinter of The Nethren and are usually referred to as the "Azure Attendants".
Contractors
While the Spectator doesn't hire non-Ashuri within the facilities, she makes an exception when hiring contractors (usually pirates), to get new blood for the arena. She pays more when she is delivered something new and accepts both sapient and non-sapient creatures (though non-sapient creatures are not registered as contestants).
