Outsider

Outsiders are beings that are composed of the essence of a plane other than the Material Plane. These beings include extraplanar beings such as fiends and celestials, as well as creatures native to the Material Plane such as aasimars and tieflings. While most outsiders are considered living creatures, they do not have the body/soul dual nature of mortals and instead are fundamentally tied to their native plane; outsiders that are not native to the Material Plane do not need to eat or sleep, nor do they die of old age. However, they may choose to meld with the essence of their native plane of existence, sharing their knowledge with the rest of its kin.

Because the nature of most outsiders is necessarily foreign to the mortal races of the Material Plane, it may be challenging for a mortal to understand their ways and motivations or to deal with them on a regular basis.
