Canine

Canines are a group of medium- to large-sized, carnivorous mammals with long legs, a distinct muzzle, and a lithe, muscular body.

Canines are quadrupedal mammals with prominent muzzles, pointed ears, long legs, and a lean body. They are covered in fur except for the nose and (usually) the paw pads, and most types possess a long or medium-length tail. Their eyes are forward-facing, and their jaws possess proportionately powerful bite force and elongated, pointed eyeteeth. Their claws are blunt and non-retractible, offering them extra traction when chasing down prey.

Canine species can be found all over the known world, across Frostholm, Aetheria, and Khaphtela alike. Larger species tend to be apex predators, but smaller species may scavenge on whatever they can find.

Most canine species are highly social animals, living and hunting in packs that allow them to collectively take down larger prey than they might on their own.
