What is Reku's temple?
As it's said in the name reku's temple is a temple for the deity reku. It is a large temple and has multiple rooms. The main room of the temple and the one people see when they walk in is a room with a statue of Reku. People normally pray and place offerings at the feet of the statue. During certain festivals, the villagers dance around the statue. If there's a good harvest the entire village makes offerings. Offerings for Reku often include clothing, food, fish, veils, and jewelry.
How is Reku's temple used?
Reku's temple is not only used to worship but also for healing. In the back of the temple, there are five rooms used to heal, and nurture. The first room is for giving birth, and the room is also prepared for usage in advance. The room typically has a basket, running water, a blanket, a belt, and a bed, as well as a small statue of Reku, and Koda. The second room is for when getting injured, typically used for fish bites, people that drowned, animal attacks, and other serious injuries. Inside that room is a knife, some herbs, cloths, towel, freshwater, and the
Horns of Reku. These objects are normally used to perform surgeries and fix open cuts/wounds. The third room is used for the sick. That room is the largest room other than the worship room. It has 15 beds inside, a large amount of fresh water and has three cupboards. In those three cupboards are medical herbs, homemade medicines, ice packs, heat pads, and cups. The fourth room is used for little children. This room is the only one that isn't used for healing but to care for little kids. Most of the time villagers can't leave their young children at home while they work so they take their children to the temple so the caregivers and teachers can care for them. The fifth and last room is used for mentally ill and disabled people. In that room, they normally have to keep a therapist who talks to most of them on a daily or weekly basis.
