The horrors create The Continent of The Frozen Wasteland

When the horrors thought the world was too warm, one reached out its massive, magical claw and drew icy cold onto the continent. This simultaneously divided it from the rest of the world and completely reversed the climate. They ended up changing the climate from a mild mountain range and a temperate forest to a bitter, cold wasteland. After this happened, all the humans living in the area either adjusted, left, or died. The creatures in the area mutated within a decade, changed themselves into different forms, and adjusted to the new climate. The former lord of the land died to the cold, and slightly later Gareth was created and took up power.
