Second Full Moon
Execution
This tradition is carried out on the first day of the Month of Strength, as it is the first day that the second moon is full. It is considered one of the most exciting holidays in the Ceccene desert, and is celebrated with a large party under the moonlight. The official celebration begins at 10pm on the first day of the month of Strength. It begins with a community wide gathering where every member of the community that is able comes together and has a minute of silence to remember all those who died that year, and then after that is over a party is had. It often involves large quantities of food, alcohol, music, and overall a fun time is had by all. Typically offerings are made to the Creator and the Giver, and the celebration typically goes until the moon disappears over the horizon.
Components and tools
This celebration involves large quantities of food, drink, alcohol, and every other type of consumable typically associated with parties. It is also typical to have a large pole set up in the center of the area that the party takes place in, with the names of every person in that community who died within the past year etched into it. Depending on which town, the names can also be hung on the pole on scraps of fabric. Offerings to the Creator and the Giver are typically also presented. Offerings to the Creator typically include pieces of art and craftsmanship, and offerings to the Giver typically include flowers, leaves, and other things that the community has grown.
Participants
The entire community typically attends this ceremony, with the exception of those too old, young, or sick to attend. The most important people that participate are the village elder, who opens the ceremony, the name reader who reads out the names of the dead, and the offering giver who lays out the offerings to various Horrors.
Observance
This holiday is observed on the first day of the month of Strength, which is the first day that the Second Moon is full, and will remain full for the full month.
