Crystal of Magic

The cloaked figure in the alley looks up to you, looking up at you with they're crinkled, black eyes. They hand you over a small, threaded necklace with a small crystal that glows with magical power. They look you up and down, murmuring in a language you cannot understand. You aren't even sure it's a language. They lock eyes with you, and you feel a tremor go down your spine. Murmuring continuously, they reach their wrinkled, pale gray arms over your head, pulling the necklace along in front of your face. They, with a toothless grin, tie the necklace behind your neck. You feel warmth run through your body as the power swims through you. You close your eyes as tremors run through you. After a moment, you settle and raise your eyes. You see nothing but an empty alley, and the soft glow of the crystal rising and falling in time with your heartbeat.
