Alvlaith

Divine Domains

Alvlaith is the goddess of sin, atonement, mourning, retribution, and judgement. She is considered the highest goddess within the pantheon of the Alvkirk, and it is her worship that the Church is primarily focused on. She demands that humanity atone for their natural sinful state through suffering and sacrifice.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Alvlaith's main symbol is the Rose of Alvlaith, which is a scepter entangled in thorns. The scepter represents Alvlaith's position as the head of the pantheon and the queen of all, and the thorns represent her eternal suffering and burden.

Tenets of Faith

To be a follower of Alvlaith is to suffer. Alvlaith, in her grief after the death of Otynn, demands that all mortals prove that they are worthy of his sacrifice by making sacrifices of their own. To Alvlaith, one's personal suffering must outweigh the suffering they have inflicted upon the world. To this end, those dedicated to the worship of Alvlaith make themselves suffer in any number of ways, from physically beating and injuring themselves to subjecting themselves to starvation.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Alvlaith seeks some form of retribution for the death of her husband, and some way to assuage her endless grief. It is to this end she encourages the suffering of mortals, so she isn't alone in her pain, but even this does not bring her any relief.
