The Elemental Faith

It's well known that all of Lore is made up of the 6 primordial elements. While there is certaintly more complexities to it, and there are some other parts to it, it is a significant, fundamental, and highly influential part of creation itself.

It is no surprise then, that the embodiments of these elements would be worshiped as gods in their own right. The Avatars, or Makers according to Azyver, are the physical embodiment of the Elemental planes, their voice and will in physcial form. As the last remaining beings present through creation, their faith is very active in both places, with them having real, material effect on the world to this day. However, it is Azevyr who is more active in this faith by far.

One important thing to note about the Avatars is that after the vanishing of Mordremoth, there was a point where they sturggled to make sure their battles did not shift the mortal plane drastically. To mitigate this, they created the Elemental Orbs and the Elemental Dragons.

Mythology & Lore

There are two diverging mythologies around the Avatars, one for the land of dragons and the other for Azevyr.

In the land of dragons, the Avatars were formed by Mordremoth, granted will and understanding in order for them to maintain the balance between them. Their conflict was his guidance, to ensure that so none would be tempted to overthrow the other, or be weak enough to be overthrown, they would be at constant battle with each other, ensuring they would grow their power and maintain their vigilence. This conflict was kept outside their realm, so any small tip of the balance would not disrupt it's fabric. The Avatars are the last to truely understand the ways of the original gods, and the greatest followers of Mordremoth.

In Azevyr, The Makers had always existed, but without purpose. Mordremoth, in his wisdom, defeated them and taught them a new path, one where their war could bring a new world into form. He taught them the dragon gods plans for the world, and shared their techniques as well as ways to keep themselves united in purpose and strength. The Makers agreed, and forged the world alongside them. Today, they still perfom the mock war their teacher set them upon, as way of thanks for that which he helped them build.

Tenets of Faith

By the Elemental faith, all the Elements have a vital role in the realm, and all must be respected in equal measure. One may, of course, give praise to whichever element they are attuned to, so long as they do not forget the others. Such attunements are considered blessings, but not ones a person should be concerned with changing. Should your attunement change, it is not a matter of the Maker in question giving you up, but their ever shifting nature letting another take their space.

Of course, in the land of dragons, there is less significance given to this. Attunements are just another aspect of how the world works, and it's generally understood that elements aren't evil on their own, but evil can be done with them. A rock can kill, but rocks aren't evil.

...Ok SOMETIMES rocks are evil. But not without some evil and/or crazy wizard involved. That was a wierd tuesday.
