Cinder Peaks

The Cinder Peaks form a jagged, brooding barrier along the northern border of Aeshethar, their blackened ridges marking the edge of the nation’s fertile lands. The lower valleys, though barren at first glance, hold pockets of hardy plant life and streams that run warm from underground heat. Though the Cinder Peaks have slept for centuries, the land retains an uneasy energy. Even in still air, faint curls of steam sometimes rise from fissures, and tremors occasionally roll through the slopes—reminders that the mountains are not truly silent, only resting.

Dwarven Holds

The range is known for its layers of windblown ash, remnants of long-ago eruptions, and the dark scatter of obsidian that catches the light like shards of night. Two great dwarven holds lie within these mountains: Kirach, deep beneath Mount Kirach in the east, and Bunkuhm, carved into the base of a dormant cone in the western range. Their presence brings a steady rhythm of dwarven caravans moving through the low passes, trading metals, volcanic glass, and finely forged goods.

Owlin Nests

Some of the higher crags serve as nesting grounds for small colonies of Owlin, whose keen eyes and swift wings make them masters of the mountain winds.
