Kari Grimtank
Lose Some, Win Some
Kari may have survived his short lived adventuring career, but not without leaving part of himself behind in the City of Mists. He and his partner, Othil Hardpike, knew they were playing a dangerous game by delving into the Mists in search of lost relics and rare materials, but they didn't expect what they found. Kari came out of the Mist missing the lower half of his left leg, his left arm so badly damaged he can barely use it, and three long claw marks permanently marring his face. But never dare insinuate that what happened that day was a tragedy - regardless of what he lost, he will be the first and loudest to declare that the treasure he and Othil brought home was well worth it.
The Quiet Life
Now over two decades since that fateful day, Kari has settled quite comfortably into the life of domesticity that he and Othil have built together. Officially, Kari runs the business side of Hardpike & Grimtank Forge, managing the books and client relationships while Othil manages the Forge itself. But Kari hasn't allowed his limitations to completely stop him from practicing his craft; although Hardpike & Grimtank doesn't advertise it, some of the finest jewelry and silversmithing comes from Kari's workshop above the main forge. Despite his half-orc heritage, he may not seem very intimidating at first glance these days. His slighter-than-average build, nearly immobile arm, and severe limp might lead some to underestimate him - but don't be fooled, the cane he uses is decorated with the finest mithril inlay, and it can pack a hefty punch when he's in the mood. Kari has left the adventuring life behind, but that doesn't mean he's cut old ties. He remains good friends with Yves and Karina at the Bleeding Blade, and has been known to occasionally hire adventurers to retrieve rare materials from the mountains to the north of the city for him - without telling Othil, of course.

Religious Views
Due to his profession, Kari holds a deep respect for the elemental fire spirits. Although he does not worship any of the specific regional deities whose temples can be found scattered around Redstone, he has adopted Othil's dedication to Igni, the old Dwarven name for the Primordial Fire.
Relationships
History
Othil and Kari met in their youth. Brought together initially by their training as smiths, their relationship grew when they discovered a shared fascination with the idea of salvaging and repairing lost artifacts from The War and collecting rare components to use in their craft.
Shared Secrets
Neither Othil nor Kari will talk about the details of their last adventure into the City of Mists. Whatever happened out there - whatever left Kari so permanently scarred - they keep it to themselves.
