Scales
The most famous and well-known Piece of Magic, first forged by Dlisn's hands after the Burning of Souls, due to his ignorance of the material and unrefinement of both ability and capability, the Piece was forged in a much more experimental and rough way and completed entirely unlike some of the others. In all forms, the metal will seem scaley and rough to the touch. It cannot be smoothed down even by Dlisn himself, and under extreme duress will even flake small scales off.
Unknown to many it's also the largest that remains intact, and possibly the strongest made due to its unrefinement aside from creating a perfectly imbued weapon that is, by all means, unbreakable and able to cut through almost any other known metal, it can also manipulate other objects with imbuement or amplification.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Even as a completed Piece it has slight drawbacks to unsituated, making it impossible to use by getting constantly get lost and not returning the owner's hand and upon insistence, physically harmful to anyone without ‘good intentions’.

History
The first Piece made by Dlisn after the Burning Of Souls to originally be wielded by the 'The Great Commander', Maceadon Aleanth, but has now passed down the family line.
Unlike most of the Pieces of Magic Scales was completed immediatly, but like the rest it was made to aide the Lislowan Coalition during the Great Talthorian Wars. It was used in many conflicts for years to come until Mace'adon retired from active duty, where it remained in his possesion until he was forced from retirement due to the increase of Exhaul'd activity in the Shamrock Plains.
With his disappearance the Piece was thought lost for many years but was recovered at some point from Mount Kulthoth and used in the Lislander Civil War before quietly fading into near myth and legend.

Culturaly, any Piece is seen as a holy and unique artifact, but Scales in particular has always been seen and used as a symbol of hope and victory. Whether because of the personal history of its prestigious lineage of users or jsut the legendary icon it has become, any of it's weilders are regarded important and highly respect in all circles, in their own ways.
