The Pieces
In the time right after the Burning of Souls, the entire continent of Lislow was in pandemonium. Between the raging Talthorians descending from the north in search of vengeance, the animals and beasts of the land mutating into fearsome creatures and predators, the plantlife and fauna growing somewhat sentient and violent, and the Lislanders themselves fighting each other and everything else with anything they had, the power-scales were swinging so wildly that Dlisn Mount-Carver feared it'd be too long before normality was restored.
Having already been experimenting lightly with the broken pieces of The Shard he had taken from New Talthoria during the Sacking of the North, Dlisn delved into crafting Magical Artifacts of wonderous and magnificent capabilities. Through the centuries he crafted, and perfected several different ones that did a variety of unexplainable things by even modern standards. While they is no perfect count to how many he originally made, or how many remain, assumedly most of them were quite legendary as he gifted them to several Heroes and Adventurers across Lislow who were fighting for the common and greater good, and many were stolen and lost/re-found over the decades passing by. They also became the base inspiration for many other artifacts and technologies over the years as many have tried with little to no success to replicate his unknown manufactory process or come close to the results he has.
Dlisn has kept how he made them a secret his entire life, and as far as anyone known never revealed to anyone even the most basic steps happy to let the ability die with him, as he fears what'll happen if items with some abilities become common enough to fall into the wrong hands.Mechanics & Inner Workings
