Whitescale

Lizardfolk genetic condition associated with spirituality.

Hatched this Way

There is no way to tell just from the egg of a lizardfolk if they will hatch with whitescale or not. Upon hatching the full-body discolouration of scales is immediately obvious and extra special care has to be given to the newborn; though even with great care there is a significant chance that they won't survive for a season, let alone a year. Should an affected person survive beyond a year, their chances to dying to the condition drop to near zero but that doesn't mean things will be easy.   Whitescale causes a person to struggle to maintain high levels of muscle on the body which can make the often demanding life on Kestatol difficult. Fortunately, the clans take care of their own and there are many tasks that a person with whitescale can do to contribute.

Blessed and Cursed

There is an association with whitescale and closeness to the spiritual, the origins of which are unknown. Affected individuals often find themselves on a path to leadership within their community.

Tsero

There have been many lizardfolk that have had whitescale but none are remembered as clearly as the hero Tsero.   Of the Five Great Heroes, Tsero was the only one who didn't take up arms. They were instead focused on the logistics of supplying their forces and the diplomacy of keeping the tribes together.
