Throat Singing

Traditional singing technique.

"The hawk soars through the sky,   We watch from the ground.   The winds run freely,   We run along the ground.   We are not the hawk or the wind,   but when we see the birds,   when we feel the winds,   our spirit flies free."   -Traditional song

History

The [Steppe Dwellers] have passed the tradition of throat singing down from generation to generation since before the time of darkness.

Execution

Throat singing is achieved by forming the mouth in just the right way while singing to create overtones. Songs are sometimes accompanied by traditional instruments.
