Battle of Tokai Pass

"This was not the glorious battle you hear stories of or read about. This battle was a crawl. They held the pass, only one way to get to them. They were fortified all the way down firing arrows at anything that moved.
A group was ordered to scale the mountains to get behind the enemy. They didn't make it. Between the dangers of the mountains and the enemy patrols they died.
Eventually the skyknights took their forward stronghold during a storm. That was only the beginning. Eventually winter set in."

The Conflict

Prelude

Bral sought to control access to their lands and to expand. There was only one way to expand.

Battlefield

The battlefield was a narrow pass in the mountains. The sides of the pass were steep.

Conditions

The conditions started fair but degraded when winter came. The ground froze and was buried by snow. The mountains became to dangerous to attempt to climb.

Outcome

Bral secured it's borders from outside attacks.

Aftermath

The people of Bral are cut off from outside cultures. The nation becomes xenophobic.

Historical Significance

The Garadi(ethnicity) lived opposite Bral on the other side of the mountains. They fortified the pass when word arrived of Bral's imperial campaign. Many other people's fled here as Bral swept across the area.
There was a point during the battle when Bral soldiers had built defenses to protect themselves from arrows and expanded the structure. Eventually both armies had forts within the range of their bows.
Bral won eventually when a messenger requesting food and other supplies for the Garadi was killed by a skyknights. The Garadi were beset by starvation and unable to defend themselves.

Legacy

Since Bral secured the pass no one has been able to threaten the nation with war.
