The Dawning Day - Festival/Funfair

History

The Dawning Day is celebrated on January 10th. It is the day that the halflings of the The Small Separatists finally acquired their freedom, after years of fight and struggle, on the year 379 BBE. Since then, a huge celebration festival is held in Syrup. In it, people from across Lindrinor come to the small halfling capital to enjoy the caring and embracing festivities.

Execution

The Dawning Day occurs, normally, in the outskirts of the Main District. It starts at midday.
  • 12-13 -> The Grand Speech
  1. Honors the party in front of everyone for what they did in the investigation and battles
  2. Makes Captain Draken the General of the Bridgelum's Defenders 
  3. Tells a little bit about what happened and shows his daughter to the crowd (she's been cured by her mind-control affliction)
  4. Gives the schedule of the events of the day to everyone
  5. Commands everyone to feast and have fun
  • 13, 17 , 21 -> First Play, Second Play, Third Play (5 sp each (last one is free), 30 minutes each)
  • 14, 18, 22 Tiny Folk's Pie Eating Contest (3 gp all, 15 minutes each)
  • 15, 19, 23 -> One-on-One battles hosted by Duramond Gorquins (he will d100 wild magic table on each combat Combatants sheets: (Human Mage (Mage), Mountain Elf psychic Monk (Githzerai Zerth), Pale Dwarf (Duergar Warlord), Pyromancer (Flamewrath)

Participants

A bunch of tents are built to host the attractions which are:
  • The Play -> Three Plays are held along the day (one at 08:00, one at 16:00 and one at 00:00) 1. The Banishment of the Ancient One, 2. The Patricide's Patricide, 3. The Dawning Day
  • Catch a pig -> DC 18 to catch the pig
  • The Market -> All of Syrup's merchants make stalls here today to sell their goods.
  • Throwing rings into teleporting moles -> DC 18 Dex ranged attack to hit a mole
  • Puppet Show -> The Great Journey story; The two Human Kingdoms; Ilbo Sackins' story.
  • Rolling-on-a-barrel-fight -> Have to knock the other from the barrel (every turn make an acrobatics check DC 10)
  • The Haunted House -> fuck this
  • Boxing Arena -> Classic boxing
  • Corrida de Saco em 2 ->
  • Smash-A-Boulder -> DC 18 Athletics to damage the boulder. 2d6 + Str to damage and the boulder has 10 hp.
  • Extreme Pie Eating Contest -> Pies were made by a Wild Magic Sorcerer. Each turn a player can eat one pie by making a DC 5 Con save (+2 per pie already ate). They also roll percentile and deal with the results. If they fall unconscious or are forced to stop eating they lose. There is a cleric nearby to heal them of any injuries sustained. 0-60: Normal Pie.   61-65: The pie doubles in size as you swallow it. Increase this and all future DCs by an extra +2   66-70: The pie is mixed with energy from another plane. Disadvantage on this check.   71-75: The pie bursts into flames as you put it in your mouth. No Con save needed but take 3d6 fire damage and make a DC 10 Medicine check to cool your mouth and continue.   76-80: The pie casts grease as you swallow it. You have advantage on this and the next Con save.   81-85: You turn into a goat for 1 minute. You may continue eating but your stats become that of a goat (Con 11).   86-90: Your pie begins yelling painfully personal insults at you. Make a DC 10 Wisdom save to continue eating.   91-95: The pie disappears as you swallow it. No DC needed and do not add the usual +2 to future DCs.   96-99: The pie explodes as it hits your stomach causing a rupture. Take 3d8 damage now and at the start of each turn until you are healed.   100: You are teleported to a random location with 5 miles and disqualified from the contest.

    I like the pig catching and the lucky dip pies. It sounds chaotic. XD
