Leo Tabaxi evolved from the roaming savannah prides of Sakrentosian lions. They are most commonly characterized by the males of the species sporting thick manes of fur.

Leo Tabaxi differ from other Tabaxi with their natural strength and their powerful vocal cords that allow them to roar like their ancestors. They grow bigger than the average Tabaxi.

Social Structure
Leo Tabaxi differ greatly from other Tabaxi in their natural social structure and culture around tribes, which they refer to as prides, a term left behind from their ancestors. Leo Tabaxi prides are much more closed off and smaller than other Tabaxi tribes, and usually only contain one or two family units maximum. Prides stick to themselves, and often times multiple prides that live out in the wilds of Sakrentos will squabble over hunting grounds and territory.
Leo Tabaxi prides that live in or cities, on the other hand, are often comparable to mafia families, and have heavy influence over said city due to their size, strength, and cunning. The most notable of these prides, the Goldstrike pride, controls the city of Arazi, the Sakrentosian capitol in the westernmost part of the country. They are known for being ruthless, and for having a very wide network of influence in the country.

Facial characteristics
Leo Tabaxi's most striking feature is the proud mane of thicker fur that males of the subspecies grow. It is a common practice to groom and style one's mane, and it is the source of many Leo Tabaxi's pride.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Leo Tabaxi first evolved in the savannah regions of Sakrentos, and primarily spread south from there, if they left Sakrentos at all. There is a very high saturation of Leo Tabaxi in that country, whereas other subspecies of Tabaxi are rather rare there.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Leo Tabaxi, like all Tabaxi, have heightened senses of hearing, smell, and sight. They are also known to be more spiritually sensitive.

Naming Traditions
Leo Tabaxi, as many of them are Sakrentosian, are usually found to use the Sakrentosian Tabaxi naming system, wherein their personal name comes from the Tabaxi language, and their surname is their pride name, with the word "of" preceding it.

Major Organizations
- The Goldstrike Pride is perhaps the most notable pride in all of the continent. This family sits in control of the capitol city of Sakrentos, Arazi, and rules over its commerce with iron claws. In tradition with their lion ancestry, the Goldstrike Pride expels its sons when they come of age, intending to start a new empire. However, only two sons have been sired in recent years that have made it to adulthood, those being Hari and Dilan, sons of Vitani and Elias respectively, two high-ranking ladies in the pride.
- Less notable but also worth mentioning is the much smaller Godkeeper Pride, a much smaller family that lives in the celestially-bound city of Skottya, and are charged with upkeep of the monument known as Skottya Mill.
Beauty Ideals
Leo Tabaxi's main source of pride is the upkeep of their coats, and that goes double for the manes some members of the subspecies sport. Oftentimes, and especially in urban areas, you will see male Leo Tabaxi with luxuriously groomed manes, and some of the fancier sorts will braid jewelry and beads into the manes to make them stand out that much more. Even moreso, the more nomadic and outlander prides will have manes dyed bright colors to act as war paint, or to express themselves.
Gender Ideals
Leo Tabaxi have some gender hangups, in particular within the hierarchies of prides. While there typically will be a male leader of a pride (referred to hereon as a king) the women within a pride are often the heavy-lifters, working and hunting together and serving as ambassadors to their prides, while the other men within the pride are more specifically tasked with striking out on their own. Most prides encourage their sons to become independent, and some of the more extreme prides will kick out their sons when they come of age. A rare few instead keep one or two of their sons, and train them to be the heirs to the king's position and ensure the survival of the pride.
