Starlight (ˈsit͡sipi)

The village of Starlight is a medium sized village of halflings, located in the far northwest portion of the Shrouded Continent. It is nestled in a small valley, in the mountains that border the south of Seahorse Bay, north of the Skavre Marsh.
Though only a 500 or so of the regions halflings dwell here in a permanent state, the village is the center for over 1000 hundred halflings that thrive in the region. Most halflings live in familial units that may be stationary or temporary. These halflings come to the village on important days or pass through on their travels. As halflings come of age, they are loaned to the village to act as warriors, guards, and hunters. In exchange, they learn these valuable skills.
The Star Hunter Lodge is located in Starlight village. It is a branch of shamanism devoted to those who have strong gifts in divination.

Defences

The village has no permanent fortifications. A wall could be quickly built if necessary, by all residents.
Upon reaching adulthood, halflings of the Starlight region are expected to stay in the village proper, contributing to the combined defense and well being of the village.
There are usually between 20 and 30 such young halflings in the village at any one time. Usually, a halfling is only released from this duty upon the arrival of another to take their place.

There is a waterwheel to powder grain and aid in irrigation near the village.
A permanent market area exists near the center of the village, managed by the Merchant Patriarch.
The 'Star Hunter' lodge is located in Starlight village, a shamanic center for learning about the stars and their effects on the seen (and unseen) world.
