Mottled Leaf (f[h]: ˈpo̞gumu viˈmɐdi)
Mottled Leaf was a small village halflings located in the northwest marshes of Ehlum. It was a small, tight-knit community nestled deep within the dense foliage of the swampy jungle. The homes, made of woven reeds and thatched roofs, were be elevated on stilts to avoid interior flooding from the marshy land.
As in most halfling villages throughout Ehlum, it was led a council of elders making decisions based on the consensus of the community. The inhabitants were very skilled at navigating the treacherous swamps and had a deep understanding of the plants and animals that called it home. The abundant resources of the jungle provided hunting and fishing for food and they used the plants for medicine and building materials.
The village was abandoned in the face of a gnoll incursion throughout the swamplands and the halflings attempted to journey north into the mountains, heading for Starlight village. A few made it, but many others did not, whether lost to the dangers of the wilderness or taken by gnolls.
