LC 2 - Shot Through the Heart
General Summary
Having released their unknown assailant, the group decides to trail him. As he walks stiltedly north towards the warehouse district, Shelune drops Minya so the small clockwork ball can follow, likely unnoticed, giving the group additional distance to keep.
Shaelune, Lox, Aegis, and Panabon follow on the same street while Perunyia and Rosalia move towards the dock to try to catch him if he thinks to disembark. By this time, the sun has mostly gone done. The first group follows him through the warehouse district where he turns towards the dock. Panabon heads to the roof for a better look.
Perunyia, Rosalia, and Panabon see the man sit at the edge of the dock, shoulders slumped, defeated. They wait to see if anyone is going to meet with him. Shae sends Minya closer to see. While using Minya's senses, Shae hears the rush of crossbow bolts and everyone with eyes on see him jerk once and turn, the second bolt hitting him in the chest and knocking him into the water.
Perunyia catches a glint of light and chases after. Rosalia follows and Panabon meets them on the roof. As they chase the culprit, Shae, Lox, and Aegis fish the corpse out of the water and examine it, discerning that the crossbow bolts aren't poisonous and that the man had a tattoo of a smudged snake over three alternating lines. Aegis surmises it's a local guild.
The others lose the killer in the market and they gather, deciding to head back to the Drunken Octopus. When they reach the tavern, Keedj vi'Mosayo informs them that a pair of city guards was asking about the earlier altercation. The group decides to make their way to southern half of the city, across the river, to the Desert Bloom. They decide to leave on a caravan in a few days. Shae and Rosalia learn a little more about each other.
Before they turn in for the evening, there is a scream and each in turn goes to investigate. They find a corpse, but the eyewitnesses say that the corpse was the killer, who fell after killing the victim, and then the victim stood up and left. Perunyia moved to take the corpse to the open graveyard, but was stopped by two dragonborn (the Inquisitor Miskro Geins'e and Darkclaw Tieske Frempliudo) who began to ask her questions.
