City Ships Vehicle in Like Clockwork | World Anvil

City Ships

The are the magical/mechanical constructs that allowed people to take to the skies. Mixing magical innovation in the form of automated systems that collect and stockpile natural magics in the world and using stockpiled magic from various mages who donate it in order to keep things functioning; with the mechanical innovations of steam powered engines and huge turbines to keep them powered and in the air, they truly are materpieces of creation. Each one is capable of housing a large city without loss of function, and as such have become the standard for most of the world's population.

Power Generation

Steam powered engines fuled by combination magic that has been stockpiled into special batteries serve as the power source for the ships. On each ship there are 20 such engins in different sectors to ensure that the ship stays powered.

Propulsion

Steam is used to power the turbines and is mixed with air magics to help keep the city afloat and moving. In fact an automated system was developed to harvest and harness the natural air magic in the world around to aide in the process.

Weapons & Armament

There isn't much in the way of weaponry as far as the ship it's self goes, in fact the most the ship is responsible for are the battalions of cannons and harpoons. The rest comes from the people that call the place home.

Armor and defense

The ships are plated in steel to protect the important inner workings, there are also generators to create forcefields to protect the city. These forcefields are created by ambient magic as well as stored donations of magic from the inhabitants of the city.

Communication Tools & Systems

The entire ship is rigged with an intercom system, alarm bells, and messenger bird stations to ensure communication is kept. Not to mention the use of magic to aid such things. AThese systems are well maintained as failure to keep in contanct and aware could spell doom for everyone.
