Taiko Fon was born on September 4, 1993, in Shizuoka, Japan, to a British diplomat-turned-baker and a Japanese baker. Her childhood was steeped in the comforting aroma of her parents’ bakery near Shirahama Beach. From a young age, Taiko was captivated by the art of baking, often watching her parents work in harmony. However, her idyllic life began to crumble at 16 when she uncovered her father’s infidelity. This revelation left a lasting scar, compounded by his sudden disappearance on her 18th birthday. Determined to rebuild, Taiko and her mother relocated, opening a smaller bakery where they lived and worked tirelessly to maintain a semblance of stability.
Taiko’s education was modest, but her parents’ tutelage in baking honed her skills. Her mother, with her finesse for intricate pastries, passed on her techniques, while her father’s discipline influenced her work ethic, even as his betrayal lingered. Baking became her sanctuary, a creative outlet where she could channel her emotions. Tragedy struck again when her mother passed away when Taiko was 20, leaving her to shoulder the bakery and its mounting debts alone. Despite her resilience, the challenges proved overwhelming, leading her to sell the bakery in 2020 after a traumatic robbery altered her path forever.
During the robbery, Taiko was saved by a Female Yakuza , a member of the Hidora clan, whose intervention marked a turning point. The Yakuza’s kindness and strength inspired Taiko, and she accepted an invitation to join the clan, leaving her bakery behind. This decision brought her into a new world of connections and opportunities, allowing her to rebuild her life. While the transition was difficult, Taiko’s determination to find belonging and purpose guided her through the change.
