The Realms of Wernata
The Realms of Wernata are divided into the Eight Major segments, each segment ruled by a sort of City State. While this number was Nine less than a few decades ago, the fall of Emperor Markus Cheem in 1519 led to a destablisation of the realm of Kota Puti and it's eventual take over by Kota Iren. Whoever controls the Major City State rules their segment of land, through whichever means they find necessary. Once upon a time, they all ruled as a unified group of settlers, but time and corruption split them all apart, reflecting in some way the country their original ancestors hailed from. Perhaps that might change in the future.
In the tumultous year of 1519 (often referred to as The Year of Dead Rulers), the ruler of then Kota Mati - the Fallen God Talen - was deposed and killed by the Warforged Vazh'Kural. This realm soon became Kota Besi and one of the few other locations in the world to grow Ironwood. Additionally, the realm of Kota Biru's ruler, Emperor Tor Yanva XVIII, passed from this life through old age and was replaced by then outsider Lora Hawklight, becoming Empress Hawklight I.
