Mizar Altuni

Dusty, dry, hot. All the elements of death.   But like death and it's myriad of design, below the surface is life. Teeming, infinite. Beautiful.
The closest planet to the twin stars of the Aethfin Region, Mizar Altuni appears at first glance to be a lifeless husk, burned and radiated by Mizar and Alkaid. Unending landscapes of dry canyons, dusty deserts, and imposing mountains hide a secret deep beneath the surface.

One Planet, Two Worlds

The surface of Mizar Altuni is made of thousand kilometer thick rock, blasted by eons of radiation from the nearby twin suns of Mizar and Alkaid. Across the this deadly landscape, research stations and surface mining settlements thrive with the help of the Topworld Water Line, which delivers water from the only truly habitable place on the planet.   Beneath the rock, the Subterranean Caverns house the vast majority of the Altunian people, their settlements built around underground lakes, hidden rivers, and relaxing hot springs. Light is gifted by luminescient plants and insects, while the rare, aggressive beasts of the world keep far away.

Sounds amazing - I'd love to know more of what's going on beneath the surface!
