Arknaedan Technology
The Arknaedans first visited earth tens of thousands of years ago. By Elias Rush's recounting of these events, their initial purpose here would've prevented Humanity from ever existing. They were going to extinguish our sun. They are consquently, an extremely advanced race. Their technology at-large remains beyond human understanding, but not beyond human utility.
I the early 2000s, a mission into deep space discovered the Draugr, an alien, Arknaedan ship. Early investigations lead to a basic computer interface to access the technology. Shortly afterward, the existing technology managed to adapt to human physiology and facilitated a direct man-machine interface. Their computerized systems act almost telepathically. Once interfaced, they feed directly into your mind.
Following the first mission to the Draugr, Prometheus came to Earth, possessing Elias Rush. Over the years that followed, he began using principles of Arknaedan science to build The Lab into a global super power.
These years were not without challenge. A nanite plague was created from remnants of the technology recovered from Draugr. A government cover up claimed these outbreaks were "anthrax", as a less scary means of warning the public. The government was not ready to tell the world aliens exist. Humanity at large was not ready. [Prometheus] was able to contain the outbreaks.
Finally, in 2021 the Arknaedans would invade the Earth, traces of their technology would be everywhere, though lie dormant. A complete understanding is not yet available. During the invasion, it was revealed that the US Government possessed experimental weapons created from the Arknaedan technology.
Utility
Currently, the bounds and abilities of the technology are unknown. The Arknaedans have energy weapons, advanced cybernetics, androids, faster than light technology, regenerative technology, beam weapons, and more. It is safe to say at the moment, anything in the realm of sci-fi, may be non-fiction with this tech. It is too early to know.
Manufacturing
At this time, there is no way to produce more of the technology. It can only be found in the world, salvaged, and repurposed. Some pieces of this technology are self-replicating, but that poses extreme dangers.
Access & Availability
Remnants of Arknaedan technology litter the world. It's everywhere. Luckily, it is also entirely inert. This has so far, prevented any significant harm. It can be found in the ruins of destroyed buildings and the various dumps for waste materials left after reconstruction began. Due to its widespread nature, very little precaution has been taken with its storage and handling.
Complexity
The technology itself is almost impossible to comprehend. It operates in ways we cannot yet imagine. It uses laws of physics humanity has not yet discovered. That said, it is extremely intuitive in application. The brain-machine interface, the AI at the core of the technology, allows it to interpret a users desires and act of its own accord to achieve those ends. At times, this makes applying the technology much like sculpting. The machine may not immediately understand your goals, but with repeat work and interactions, it will achieve a desireable result.
