The Eaglemond Family
Structure
A true Monarchy with blood lines succession to power. The first born child of the sitting ruler will become a ruler upon their parent's death. Royal siblings, cousins and others not in direct line of succession are expected to participate in government, politics and social events to keep the royal standard alive.
Culture
The royal family is almost exclusively Chaphine and, therefore, honors many Chaphine traditions. Children participate in the moon rite when they come of age, feasts are held at the changing of the cosmic year and weddings are intimate, private events. Royalty will marry outside of Chaphine nobility in the case of a suitor with a considerable amount of wealth and a commitment to the family motto "Power, Progress, Peace". In these cases, some non-Chaphine traditions will be honored as long as they are not too far out of the comfort zone of the current ruling head of the family.
Public Agenda
The Eaglemond family seeks to create a comfortable and beautiful life for the citizens of the Librea Cloud. They work closely with companies developing technologies for quality of life and supply them with whatever they may need to progress the wheel of time, taking all of Librea Cloud into the glorious future.
Assets
Everything. All citizens of the Librea Cloud pay fees for their property, businesses, children, all of it. And, if the fees aren't paid, the crown can legally repossess anything you hold.
History
The Eaglemond family, like most Chaphine, originated on Malea in the Lion's Tail Galaxy. There, the Eaglemond's were wealthy and well connected, but not yet royalty. Sabreal Eaglemond, the head of the family got word that a sytem of undiscovered stars with many habitable planets had been seen by roving telescopes and set out to lay claim to this new territory for himself and his family. He sold the majority of his estate to buy ships and crews, he amassed an impressive army of bought and paid-for soldiers and set sail for the unexplored corners of space.
Soon after landing on what would become modern day Viobos, the Eaglemonds marvelled at the beauty of the place and took joy in the kindness of the natives. Together with their crews, the family and a few savvy businessmen, they built the Librea Cloud brick by brick and when it was time to settle in and declare a leader, Sabreal was named King and it was declared that his family would rule this system to the end of time.
