Spires of Fortuna

Famous throughout the Libertas system are the mysterious towers known as the Spires of Fortuna. Found across the Fortuna wastelands, they tower over the glassy, shining landscape of Fortuna, an impressive site even from orbital approach.
Each spire is thicker than a Libertan town, and rises for hundreds of kilometres. The surfaces of these towers are pockmarked with impacts from space debris, but the purple, crystalline structure still glints in the irradiated sun. In peak season, tour vehicles weave between the spires, taking in the sights as visitors imbibe the best Solarian wine money can buy. A ticket to the planet from Plutus Station costs upwards of an average yearly wage. All for a single day trip.
The spires remain an enigma to science. Debate rages about their origin and whether they are artificial or natural occurrences. Whichever is the case, they remain one of the most popular tourist spots in the inner system. Due to the spires, tourism is a prosperous source of income for the Solare people.
