Starberry fields

Rich vines growing in symbiosis with thick trunked shrubs with a massive bush of spike like leaves. Small purple flowers giving way to almost clear berries that taste like a blending between pomegranate and grape. Dry white grasses and gorgeous masses of blue and red and yellow wildflowers. Fragrent rich air, and rolling hills that catch the warmer sun.   The Starberry fields are the main source for honey and wine in the realm of Levis, and most of the work for this region lays out of a bustling town with 'ownership' over the surveying region. Restricted to taking only what the region can give to its community, this has resulted in optimising and promoting growth in all aspects of a very particular ecosystem. Whole buildings have been fashioned into sheds and warehouses, in a display of storage unseen of in most of the realm of Levis. This also means that the Starberry fields is also a rare display of both longterm hired combat mages (who are paid in meals and drink, and housed in a community dormatory), and development in active anti-theft technology.   While the region is hardy to most weathers, indeed fire is benificial to enrich the soils and produce bumper crops (but is also a reason seeds are kept to regrow after), frost is a particularly nasty risk for the region and have landed the region on several hard years from time to time.

Demographics

While still predominantly foliad, Starberry fields has a large collection of Trolls  with the land based fungii.

Starberry Wine

Starberry wine is formed from the starberry gem, a fruit, that is crushed and fermented and sold across the continent in exchange for the goods to keep the region afloat and maybe even help it thrive.

Recently, a new way of selling the wine - as a 'red', where the wine is mixed with shavings of the stamen of the bush the starberry plant is in sybiosis has been attempted.

Smaller batches of custom brews exist outside of the fields - where the gems have been traded for and then mixed for their own thing - including a mead type thing by Astrid the witch which is mixed with the local honey of the forbidden forest.

The leaves and other parts of the plants are also used in some sorts of teas.
