Halfway Keep
One of the more public collaborations between humans and foliad during the Human Years, Halfway Keep was the shining beacon of diplomatic relations.
To the public foliad came to a habitat that the humans had started, and which was grown around and within.
The biggest point of interest was the tower with its bottom half and basement being cut stone, and its upper floors reportedly grown, their vents pushing air through the cramped stone of the human areas. A large membrane door was so imbued with preserving liquor it still stands to this day (although the exploration team who found it had trouble getting past its fused surface).
Around the tower sat a small town, stone buildings marking the human residences and governmental buildings, while foliad-grown dwellings served as embassy and residentials. The town and tower are surrounded by a massive stone wall, with a Strangler fig growing close to the north wall. Logs of foliads within the settlement mark a small disquiet being surrounded by all this stone - and with the fact that the keep was a staging area for stone coming from the Oracle Grove to the rest of the Sedeli region.
Purpose / Function
While on the surface the keep was for managing the stone coming out of the Oracle Grove portal, the true purpose was for managing the weapons and troops coming from the portal - and the stone coming from the mines around Levis that the Sedeli region controlled. Especially of note to the Keep was the mine to the north, and getting its stone to the as yet created Waverly Castle.
Alterations
In the modern day, the town has been rebuilt after the demons came to camp within the stone walls. Unlike Hublesstone, Xylos traded with foliad and trolls to revitalise the grown areas of the Keep, including a massive hall where Xylos holds court. The tower has become the personal residence of demon and wives, with the carts that were so long symbols of his camp retired and the awnings made into hanging tapestries across the ruined segments of the stone walls. The piles of ruined stone from the wear of the keep to time have been hauled to the sides of the keep, for use and repair when the time comes.
History
Seeking Truth
When V placeholder the Explorer and archeologist came to the Keep, she and her team documented and duplicated records on the infiltration of the Keep by concerned forces and the actions taken to bring about the fall of the Sedeli region faster. With her detailed records coming back to Natare, further research and development teams would come back to further her results. What transpired were several attempts to reclaim the keep, each time hindered by the keep's current guardian.
Show spoiler
After attempts and exploration parties were stymied, and hunters refused assistance based on the fact that there was no good reason to disturb ruins untouched for thousands of years, the keep was once again left in peace.
The guardian was a very tired Frunctine mother.
Moving In
After a certain battle of wills, Xylos and his camp were on limited time in the Grove of many faces. Added in with the fans from a certain author and the move to a more permenant and harder to reach residence was in order for the semi-reclusive demon and those loyal to him.Research into the region led to the report by the explorer 'V' and her findings on the history there. With the knowledge of the region from passing Trackers, the demon and his retinue made their way to the Keep. Giving tribute to the keep's guardian, Xylos and his wives decided to make Halfway their home, becoming the second concrete settlement of demons in Levis.

That place has quite the history. Interesting to read about it's development. How many years are we talking here?
It would have been on of the second things built, but how long that took is adding numbers to a time I currently want to feel a little more myth.
