Waverly Castle
In the old world, before the portals between the realms were closed, there existed bastions of Foliad and Human interconnectivity. Before the Trolls came from the seas and the forests. Before the Nocturne left their empires. Way before the demons came. The humans brought stone from their own lands and created massive structures across the land, in places they would like to protect from threat in other realms. A beachhead.
One such beachhead was Waverly Castle. Massive stone walls in the old ways of stacked stones filled with mortar, a massive stone hall in the centre holding the lord behind massive and intricate spell circuits, while pods and towers of organic green burst up and over in wild shapes inside. The castle was a marvel of combined strength between nations and one of the gnarled fingers representing the power the human faction could come to bare.
The humans claimed they brought the stone from their realm, and the wooden carts travelling up the main roads between what would later be called the Oracle Grove and the soon to be castle provided some proof to that claim, though the carts would slow the more the castle was in place.
Government
The Waverly Castle was entirely feudal and militaristic, with armed knights watching over the population and holding back those wishing to harm to the Lord of the castle. While most saw the humans and the local lord as the way things were done (especially with the Solaris Kingdom on the rise), there were those who saw the cracks of the human fist closing over Levis. And the humans saw this, and their disputes back home and were determined not to loose this place as their own.
RUINED SETTLEMENT
Thousands of years ago.
I love the idea of human architecture being interwoven with that of different species.
