Ages of the World

Pre-Ivory Age

(Unknown - ~1000 BDE)

Leitoria has existed for thousands or perhaps millions of years, but very little is known about its history prior to three thousand years ago. Multiple civilizations rose and fell, leaving their ruined cities behind. The human race is believed to have appeared in the world at the very end of this age.

Ivory Age

(~1000 BDE - 1 DE)

During the The Ivory Age, the human race was enslaved under the iron rule of nine immortal Archdemons. It was a dark time in Leitoria's history, and very little is known for certain about this age or what came before.

The conclusion of the Ivory Age also marks the beginning of the Dawn Era. It is the current era of the world from which all years are measured.

The Tribal Age

(1 DE - 843 DE)

After finally overthrowing the Ivory Court, humans began to build civilizations under their own control. Groups spread out across the continent of Pelatoria and established dozens of small monarchies. The end of the Tribal Age is marked by the eruption of Mt. Tierneth.

The Royal Age

(843 DE - 1597 DE)

The Royal Age marked the rise of many of the nations of modern Pelatoria. Travel across the continent increased, and the previously isolated tribes began to exchange goods and ideas.

The Imperial Age

(1597 DE - 1758 DE)

The Imperial Age was one of the shorter ages, but it was an incredibly pivotal moment in Leitorian history. The powerful Old Thurnetorrian Empire conquered almost the entirety of the continent. For the first time since the Ivory Age, the people of Pelatoria lived under the rule of a single empire. The age ended with the fall of the Old Thurnetorrian Empire after the Legrandian War.

The Industrial Age

(1758 DE - present)

The past hundred and fifty years have been marked by technological advancement, exploration, and political upheaval. Steam power revolutionized technology, warfare, and daily life, and now the recently invented diesel engine promises to introduce a second industrial revolution. More advanced seafaring vessels allowed explorers to journey further and discover the wild continent of Anithtoria. Many governments have begun to shift from absolute monarchies to democracies.
