Forging of One's Blade

When a draconin reaches the age of twenty-two, (sixteen, almost seventeen in draconin years) they must show they are ready to become an adult. They must show they understand the blade inside, and out. Along with completing their training, a young draconin must forge their own blade that they would bring to war should such events accour. Both young draconin men, and women must do so. This tradition is only carried out in Doh'garus as possession of weapons is banned in Fafnia.   The young draconin may choose all aspects of his blade, and make it truly his, or hers. The only rule when making this blade is, it must be a sword. Any sword type can be chosen, be it short sword, long sword, bastard sword, great sword, katana, scimitar, cutlass, or any other type, but it must be a sword. Once the rite is complete, a massive celibration is held. This celibration involves a lot of drinking, and often is a second test determining how long the young draconin can last under the influence. It can also determine their restraint and the ability to resist temptation. Having forged your sword is a requirement in many different lines of work, including working the forges of Doh'garus. Once a young draconin has done this, they are considered an adult, and are treated as such.

History

It has not changed at all since it was made standard after the end of the Fafnian civil war. It began as a way to celibrate how Doh'garus was forged with blade. The logic being that the men, and women of Doh'garus would forge their sword, symbolizing how Doh'garus was made.

Execution

First, a young draconin must proove they know how to use a sword by completing their training that all young draconin must perform. Once they have completed their training, they must then choose the sword they wish to forge, like those who rose against Fafnia chose to. Next, they must choose the material that will be used in their blade like how the Doh'garus Militia chose who would join them in battle. Young males must choose if they will use the fires of a forge, or the fires that come from within, as the Doh'garus Militia proudly used their fire to burn their foes. Next, they hammer the blade into the desired shape, as the newly formed Doh'garus Militia hammered the Fafnian forces nearly into submission. They cool the blade in the standard oil, and end the forging process as Horoth's Siegebreakers ended the war. Finally, they bind the hilt as the newly formed counsel bound their laws purely to the idea of freedom, and freedom alone.

Components and tools

A forge, and smith's tools are required to perform such rites. While a male may not need the fires, they are supplied with said forge anyway. Lastly, they need the chosen materials. Popular selections include steel, silver, and Bloodplate. Theorium is banned from public access in Doh'garus.

Participants

The young draconin male is accompanied by his father, while a young draconin female is accompanied by her mother. They perform this rite in private, but once the blade is complete, a celibration is held where the young draconin displays his or her blade to all they know.

I did not. My spellcheck is kind of broken at the moment, and I probably have a few misspellings, and false capitols throughout quite a few of my articles. Either way, thanks for the heads up, and thank you for the kind words. They mean a lot.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John, 3:16
