Once Hyperdrive was rediscovered, a mad scramble to launch explorations began, quickly foiled by bureaucratic quandaries. A lot more knowledge was necessary to acquire but the
Federacy's bureaucratic nature made it difficult to settle upon a solution. 27 years of "discussions" would take place with limited exploration showing the eventual profitability.
Finally. wiser heads suggested using the existing framework of
Guild Houses to grant exploration charters to places "outside of regularly governed areas." With that several
Venture Guilds were formed. Many trials and errors occurred; however some were successful at bringing back information and eventually artifacts rare and wondrous. The most successful of these is
AXE - the Alliance for eXploration and Expansion. Now, AXE has turned its blade towards
The Fringes, which can be said to be the purview of
ARM University, who has explored it extensively, almost from the beginning. Who will take the Federacy into the great unknown?

This is where Our Story, Our Campaign, begins.
The year is 221 (
DE: Dawn of the New Interstellar Era).
The characters have teamed up as part of an
ARM University expedition to one of the worlds in
the Fringes. The University is in the city of Library on the planet
Beautiful in the Fringeworthy system. Of course, they haven't been given specific information as of yet.
