IDCwear

Identification and Currency wear or Wearable Identification and Currency sytems are small single owner devices which must be on the owner to work: they are used as identification and personal currency tracking devices.
All IDC create and maintain PERSONA which is the person's virtual presence in ComSpace.
Emphasis and/or privileges placed on certain professions (especially Emergency or Esoteric professions), abilities (martial arts, psionics) or active roles/privileges/duties (diplomatic status, ship's captain) are coded and displayed through the IDCwear. Various locations determine the requirements of available notification (for example, some of your identifiers may be readily available to those who can act in law enforcement capacity but not to the casual passer-by).
On most worlds, and in all Federacy Administrative Districts  - such as Spaceports - it is required that IDCwear be easily visible. However, they're also pretty stylish, and most are versatile. Many locations relax this protocol but still require the IDCwear to be on person and set to broadcast mode so that when others come near you it automatically broadcasts some basic information with further acceptable levels of information if an inquiry takes place.
IDCwear is difficult to damage, and certain activities may issue Near Indestructible IDCwear to be retained as a PERC.
Falsifying, Hacking, or Concealing IDCwear is a Federacy Crime and is typically an offense in other locations, though the degree of enforcement outside of any Federacy Administrative District varies.
