Over the course of four days, three people in Gildenschloss die in mysterious circumstances, which are later linked to the Hound of Ill Omen unknowingly manifested by Motion Ashbrook-Sarren and directed by Sanctity Falcoferri-Riddacci against the enemies of the Everstorm Covenant. The victims include a stonemason named Josken Steenhouwer - who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, pushed from the Star Tower to fall to his death in order to test whether the method of controlling the Hound was viable; Ariadne Sendris-Ysern, a scholar of the Faculty Divinatory who it appears had intended to inform the Tower Guard about Sanctity and the Everstorm Covenant; and Claudin Alkyonides-Ysern, who it seems stumbled across the existence of the Hound and the fact that the Everstorm Covenant had control of it whilst attempting to erase the memories of his student Motion Ashbrook-Sarren.   The case was eventually solved by a party of adventurers in the employ of Princess Beatrix Bheuren van Crassen, and led to the dismantling of the Everstorm Covenant before they could launch a coup against the Gilded Tower.
