Castellan-Regent Guillaume Arthmael-Riddacci

Born 1301 AK, into the Alderno-Corlish client house of Arthmael-Riddacci. Enrolled as a neophyte scholar of the Faculty Militant in 1320, granted the grade of Adept in 1323 (thesis: “Adaptive Techniques of Battlefield Abjuration”). Recruited by the Queensknife; promoted to Knight-Intelligencer in 1329 AK, to Provost-Lieutenant in 1331 AK, and to Provost-Captain in 1334 AK. Appointed Castellan-Regent in 1336 AK, a position which he held until his death in 1344 AK, during an attempted coup against Princess Beatrix Bheuren van Crassen

Guillaume Arthmael-Riddacci was the most senior officer of the Queensknife, holding the rank of Castellan-Regent at the time of his death.

The Everstorm Covenant

It is unclear when Guillaume Arthmael-Riddacci joined the subversive organisation known as the Everstorm Covenant, though by 1344AK he was one of the main leaders of the group. He appears to have been liaising with Baron Ortolf Kruger-Ysern and the members of House Canthor with which the Covenant was conspiring against House Bheuren.

Downfall

In 1344AK Guillaume made an attempt to assassinate Princess Beatrix Bheuren van Crassen, the Queensknife-Designate, who was at that time third in line to the throne of Aldernord. When she and her travelling companions escaped form Savura by teleporting from the town of Paracannia to a hidden teleportation circle under the ruined keep of Avenfort in the north of the Sternespass, Guillaume ambushed her with a band of Balthan mercenaries and his own co-conspirators from the Everstorm Covenant. However, the Princess' companions proved more than capable of holding off the attack and Guillaume was forced to flee - and which point he was in turn ambushed and killed by the Hound of Ill Omen manifested by Motion Ashbrook-Sarren, which the Everstorm Covenant believed that they had managed to bring under their control.
Guillaume's body has never been found, and the fate of his soul is likewise unclear.
