The Mud Summer Rainstorm

The Mud Summer Rainstorm, more correctly called Dan Roes Storm, was a prolonged rain and storm period over the The Upper Lands year 203 AP. While larger towns and cities could be saved by mages smaller settlements suffered immensely. Those that were lucky had their plants downed by rain and had survive a year on almost nothing. Others had their whole farmlands washed away. A few unlucky hamlets were swept away.   Dan Roes Storm was a name given to the storm afterwards as Dan Roe, a 3-stared Grand Mage of water, specialized in storms and rain, was crucial in saving big parts of the land. Together with Lydia Courtrose, a 2-stared Grand Mage of rock, did he create effective ways of leading away the water from settlements, which was easy enough for Grand Mages to learn and apply and for together mages to at least help with.

Manifestation

During the second week of may 203 AP rain begun to fall as it use too. The rain often only stays for a week or sometimes two. This year, after the first week had passed, the rain did not seem to decrease. Instead hard winds blew up, the rain fell harder and thunder was heard across the northeastern towns of The Upper Lands. The clouded blue sky turned dark gray as the clouds grew in size until there only was one large cloud cover above the Upper Lands. When the earth was saturated with water small rivers begun forming in the grasslands, tearing farmlands apart and dragging massive parts of earth with it.   Many of the plants that was not washed away was instead drowned. Those that survived the water had to grow in dim light, as all summer sun was hid behin the cloud cover. It was darkest summer experienced, without the brightness of summer light or colourful flowers.

Localization

Often during summers a rain period rolls over Lavera, from the north-east to the south-west, hitting the north east the hardest before dispersing. Often this rain period is no problem, and rather pretty appreciated by farmers. Unfortunate circumstances in weather had this year culminated in a much larger, longer and stronger rain period han before.
