Yor
Yor is a peninsula along the north coast of the Thalassian Sea, in the eastern hemisphere of Latter Earth. The land is dominated by vast stretches of wilderness — snow-capped mountains, rugged hills, forests, grassy plains, scrublands, wetlands, tropical jungles, and sand dunes. The peninsula is divided into five major geopolitical regions: Arkadia, Draconia, Kaldonia, Potamia, and the islands of Kytheros in the Trahdian Sea.
Shared Culture & Sovereign Cities
Civilization is limited to scattered pockets of humanity centered around city-states, mere points of light amidst the vast darkness of an untamed wild. Despite the independent nature of city-states and regional differences in culture, most Yorians speak a common tongue, worship the same gods, and share similar artistic and aesthetic influences. But each city-state can vary considerably in its form of government and cultural nuances.
Ancient Secrets
Many empires have risen and fallen in the thousands of years preceding the current era of Yor. Little remains of these ancient civilizations, eroded by time and reclaimed by the wilderness. Monsters have made lairs in abandoned temples and subterranean complexes. The treasures of these ancient sites are widely sought.
