Character Creation

For more complete character creation guidance, see page 4 of the WWN core book. Some options may only be available in the Atlas book or Deluxe edition of the core book (as noted below).

Classes

There are four primary classes: Warrior, Expert, Mage, and Adventurer. Adventurer is a special class that allows you to combine two of the other classes as partial classes -- for example Adventurer: Partial Warrior/Partial Expert, or Adventurer: Partial Expert/Partial Mage.

Warrior

The Warrior class (p. 20 WWN Core) can be used as the full class or as Partial Warrior, when using the Adventurer class.

Partial Warrior

See page 21 of WWN Core for Adventurer partial class info.

  • Partial Warrior: (p. 21 WWN Core)

Expert

The Expert class (p. 18 WWN Core) can be used as the full class or as Partial Expert, when using the Adventurer class.

Partial Expert

See page 21 of WWN Core for Adventurer partial class info.

  • Partial Expert: (p. 21 WWN Core)
  • Bard: (p. 170 WWN Atlas)

Mage

The Mage class (p. 19 WWN Core) requires specifying either a) a Full Mage class, b) at least one Partial Mage class, or c) two Partial Mage classes. Please note: not all Partial Mage classes are spellcasters (ex: Healer, Vowed, and Skinshifter). If a character has two spellcasting partials, they must adhere to the PCs with Dual Spellcasting Traditions chart on page 64 of the core book.

Full Mage Class

  • High Mage: (p. 66 WWN Core)
  • Elementalist: (p. 76 of WWN Core
  • Necromancer: (p. 82 WWN Core)

Partial Mage

See page 21 of WWN Core for Adventurer partial class info.

  • Partial High Mage: (p. 66 WWN Core)
  • Partial Elementalist: (p. 76 of WWN Core
  • Partial Necromancer: (p. 82 WWN Core)
  • Healer (non-spellcaster): (p. 80 WWN Core)
  • Vowed (non-spellcaster): (p. 82 WWN Core)
    • In Yor, the Vowed partial class is reflected in the surviving teachings of an ancient martial art and spiritual practice known as Arete Agon. Originating with the Shadow Guard of the ancient Yorian Empire, experienced and trustworthy devotees of Arete Agon are valued assets in any court. The Disciples of Agon is a mystery cult of Elektra that has kept the teachings of Arete Agon alive. Most major cities have an Agonian temple dedicated to helping orphans, and providing debt collection services.
  • Skinshifter (non-spellcaster): (p. 346 WWN Core Deluxe)
    • In Yor, Skinshifters are believed to be the descendants of the goddess of Asteria, who coupled with mortals in earlier eras. The Druidic Order of Asteria is a loose affiliation of Skinshifters found throughout Yor. The largest gathering of Druids is within the Amgydalan holy lands of northwestern Kaldonia.
  • Beastmaster (non-spellcaster): (p. 350 WWN Core Deluxe)
    • In Yor, the Beastmaster partial class is most commonly found among Amygdalans and Bravarians, in the forests of Kaldonia and the sand dunes of Draconia. But it's not unheard of for those with the abilities of the Beastmaster to be found in other cultures and areas.
  • Blood Priest (non-spellcaster): (p. 352 WWN Core Deluxe)
    • In Yor, the Bleeding God has a small cult presence in most major cities -- whether it's a lone disciple in the agora squawking about one true God, a small temple serving the poor, or an adventuring Paladin. The cult of the Bleeding God started appearing in Yor in the early 900s (Yorian Reckoning), from the west. The cult has yet to gain significant political influence in the region.
  • Accursed (non-spellcaster): (p. 168 WWN Atlas)
