Could barely stand the heat.

Well, I thought it was over when the ships arrived. I had assumed our job was done when everything outside of the main keep of the fort was on the way to calm and collected. Then, in jumps this, quite literally flaming hot, Eladrin. Old friend of Aeldreth's apparently. But he could have fooled me. Before we had much of a chance to collect our thoughts, he comes bounding through the fort, turning half the place to jungle just to get to the duchess. Of course, we were told to make sure the King's sister survived the ordeal, so we jumped back into action once again. By the time I had crossed swords with him personally, Sig and Aeldreth were down for the count. Good thing I've been working on my comedy act, since my magic managed to buy me a few seconds to talk to him. Convinced him to back down, since it seemed he was allied tentatively with the King. Mission accomplished despite plenty of setbacks, but truth be told, I'm just ready to be back home for about a dozen well-earned drinks. Sick to death of this magically upsetting island.   -E

Poor Bastards

Delft finally set us off on another job after the near-disaster on the Coaltongue. Can't say I blame him, I imagine we were the talk of the town for a good while after that. Turns out the king's oh-so-charming sister got some idealists together and they thought it was a good idea to take control of Axis Island from Danor. We set off on the Impossible to meet up with a team of Constables from Slate. Fascinating types. Group dynamic not far off from our own. Half-elf named Tanya, human magic wielder I can't remember for the life of me, big bastard name of Seven Foot Dan, and a goblin named Barton. Burton? Brutus? Can't quite remember and he's in no fair state to do any talkin. Rest of his team, the poor bastards, got crushed by an underwater cave in. Or a rock trap, we're not too sure yet. The four of us were able to get B-word free and on to dry land, but Mairi mentioned not being alone in the cave. Can't say I'm surprised. Truthfully, this op is off to the unluckiest of unlucky starts. Plan is to get the goblin stabilized and secure the cave, but things do so rarely go to plan these days.
