Kakuatan, the Stone Above

Akante's Flying Fortress

A symbol of his domain, the Kakuatan is Lord Akante's personal flying war-machine. This tower of red stone and magic hangs above the bloodgrass grasslands north-east of The Crown of Lidas and slowly traverses the territory claimed by Akante and serves as the point of deployment for each of his conflicts.

Design

The Kakuatan comprises one immense donjon orbited by two lesser towers at staggered heights. Each tower is built from red stone bricks quarried from Akante's own territory. The main tower houses the primary forces of Akante's army and contains a hangar/stable at its mid-level designed for the care and holding of the Batclopes that the soldiers mount.
The largest tower is shaped into an oblong cylinder, traveling with its thinner side leading. The stone below the lowest floor is solid and slopes sharply into a long cone so that if the tower were ever to land, the stone would pierce the soft ground below and stabilize the tower's balance. Due to a lack of natural rain in the region, the roof of the tower is flat with parapets and machicolations. Both orbiting towers match the central donjon in general shape and composition, except they are wholly round instead of cylindrical.

Control

The levitation and flight path of the Kakuatan is controlled by the will of Lord Akante. By tying his own magic into the construction of the war machine, he bound the construct to himself, the act itself being one of the feats displayed to grant Akante the rank of Lord within the Hierarchy of Devils. The process of controlling the construct is not expressly magical in nature and, as such, would not be affected by inhibiting phenomenons; rather, the skill is tied to the nature of the demon lord. If Akante were to be rendered unconscious or killed, the tower's levitation would fail, and it would plummet to the ground below.
