Gossic Moss
The most widespread plant across all of Turla Varma, gossic moss is a short, bristly non-vascular flowerless plant with many uses, especially those of Uran Orcs.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Gossic moss grows exclusively in the rocky, ice covered terrain of Turla Varma. Reliant on the cool summer temperatures and rushing gales from the Uran Ocean to spread it's spores, the moss's region of growth extends over they entirety of the northern coast.
Biological Cycle
Gossic moss spores spread low and near to their parent moss. The spores stick to rocks and ice and soon spread roots and grow into flat, bristly clumps of white and blue. Mature gossic moss will produce spores yearly during the summer months and new moss growth that can take hold before winter will most certainly survive until the next years summer season.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
Gossic moss is an integral regent for Uran orc artificer magic. The moss's abundance and dry texture make it ideal for tinder for fires in general, but the quick ignition rate also lend the plant to use as a spark for artifice magic. The mottled smoke from burning gossic moss is said to attract sprits and allows the artificer to more easily commune for their magic.
Gathering gossic moss is a year round task for Uran orcs, and no matter how much they consume it never seems to make a dent in the abundance of gossic moss the next year.
