Excerpts from the Land of the Dead

Presented here is a collection of micro-fiction stories themed around the Land of the Dead. A dark, evil plane where the souls of sinners and fools are collected to be abused by three gods of death and their eternal war against each other.

• Am, the god of Cruelty, presides over a domain where physical and psychological cruelty is inflicted upon all those within his reach.
• Slegel, the god of Rot, governs a realm steeped in perpetual decay and despair. She holds dominion over the relentless rotting of organic matter, the erosion of structures, and the creation of grotesque and nightmarish flora.
• Yosarum, the god of Enigma, reigns over a chilling realm of frigid, endless depths. He commands the mysteries hidden within the void, making him the keeper of enigmatic forces and unfathomable knowledge.

From the living world, a mage organization known as the Black Opal Tower has maintained a portal directly to the deadworld, the first known of its kind. Despite the dangers they impose, these mages continue to study the Land of the Dead while its dark forces try to escape.
